The Library House is a super low energy affordable new build two bedroomed house on a narrow site in East London. 

An experiment in balancing sustainability, affordability and good design, The Library House was purpose built for the rental market, where it is rare to find any of these qualities are given much weight. As a rental house, MWA have been able to monitor The Library House’s ongoing performance in order to help improve the sustainability of future projects.

The total energy used by the 84 m² house in 2021 was 3500 kWh (100% renewable electricity).

The Library House was shortlisted for the RIBA House of the Year 2022.
