Northwold

London E5

2012

Adjacent to Edwin Cooper’s Grade II listed Clapton Library, the proposed house will sit on an empty plot which was last occupied in the 1980’s. Built in white brick and corten it has been sensitively designed to echo the proportions and character of its neighbours.

The heavily insulated design features a windcatcher to aid natural ventilation, a highly efficient solar heating system and a green roof. The house will meet Code for Sustainable Homes level 4 and be a model for sustainable urban living.

The proposal was granted full planning consent in February 2014.
